The average life span of a golf buggy lead acid battery is 3 years, over 70% of which are replaced due to an internal process called Sulphation. Without the damaging effects of Sulphation, the typical automotive battery could last 6 to 10 years!
Today our society buys, consumes and discards 96 million batteries a year without realising many can be maintained in a like new condition, with one simple process. That process is battery de-sulphation, or simply, SULPHATION ELIMINATION! Using the BATT-RECON system, a battery can be maintained with little or no Level 2 or Level 3 sulfation build up on the internal battery plates. This buildup can be scientifically measured and removed quickly enough to become a commercially viable service offering. Battery sulfation measured using an impedance tester, can now be quickly and safely removed allowing the battery to charge and discharge more efficiently, in addition to extending the life of the battery.
Imagine a process that allows the battery life to be extended up to twice the current state of technology! Imagine a world with less than 30% of the current battery recycling, environmental mess and cost to the consumers! Imagine 70% of those batteries saved and re-used, that's 67 million batteries a year!
BATT-RECON is the world's first scientifically based, commercially viable lead-acid battery Sulphation Elimination process! A real "Game Changer" in the motive battery industry, BATT-RECON allows a battery service technician to maintain large and expensive batteries without having to move them back and forth from a fixed battery maintenance facility!
BATT-RECON is the beginning of a paradigm shift in the way 21st Century batteries will be maintained and operated.
MOBILE SERVICE to your location: Our Mobile Battery Reconditioning Service is primarily designed for lead acid batteries. Please call to get an estimate.
Our Annual Mobile Contract Services are designed for clients who want biannual services performed on their forklift or golf cart batteries. Our service provides for two visits per year to your location and a full sulfation elimination of your batteries. Quick solve golf buggy battery questions:
How do I know when I need a new battery?
If you have trouble completing your shift / operation, the charger is not able to complete a charge, the battery is excessively smelly when charging or in use, and many other situations. Just contact us to discuss your issues and to see how we may remedy them.
Can I buy just one new battery for my set?
A set of batteries is only as good as the worst battery in the set, it is important therefore to get out the bad battery quickly, do not put a new battery in with old batteries for the same reason. We do sell reconditioned batteries to match your existing batteries.
How do I purchase a battery?
We accept the most credit & debit cards, cheques, cash and accounts can be arranged.
How do I maintain my batteries properly?
Standard flooded lead acid batteries need to be checked regularly and topped up with distilled water, not filtered water, as required. NEVER top up a battery with acid. Always make sure that the battery is not discharged past the 80% mark and then charge the battery for at least 8 hours.
What is in a battery and how does it work?
A battery has a number of lead plates suspended in a diluted sulphuric acid. About half of the plates are negative and the other positive. The negative and the positive are slightly dissimilar in lead content. When you use the battery the acid is absorbed by the plates making them similar (flat battery) and when you charge the acid is pushed out (charged battery).
How long can I leave my batteries without charging?
A battery should never be left in a discharged state. If you have to leave a battery for a period of time it should always be in a fully charged a correctly topped state. It is not ideal to leave a battery standing, however a period of up to 6 weeks should not be too detrimental, if you are not using the vehicle then put it on charge every 4-6 weeks during the period of non use.
Who can install the batteries for me? We have a mobile service engineer that can come to you and repair or replace your batteries.
Why do batteries fail before their time?
Mainly due to the lack of simple preventative maintenance, correctly topping, correctly charging the battery and making sure the battery is not over discharged past 80 %. If you do not use the battery, the battery plates will sulphate and decrease the capacity of the battery reducing the work it can carry out. Similar to a kettle furring up with chalk, it takes more energy to bole the kettle.
My battery has not been in storage and has low capacity due to sulphation, how do I rectify this?
Batt-Recon is the ideal solution for sulphated batteries, we will test your batteries and then run them through our de-sulphation process, this will show the changes in the batteries capacity.
Do you supply starter batteries for my petrol golf buggy?
Yes we do, please contact us with details of how the leads connect to your battery.
How to identify my battery?
If there is a battery label or plate this should give you the battery type, voltage and amp hour (Ah).
