Jersey Harbours requested a demonstration of our electric mobility ambug in June and we travelled over for the day. The buggy was left with the Jersey Port staff after a morning of training and safety procedures. Maison Des Landes a local hotel specialising in holidays for disabled guests and their families, were invited to test the effectiveness and practicalities of our buggies. The buggies carried wheelchair passengers in comfort from the terminal building onto the Condor Ferry. It was proven to be successful for both the Harbour authority and the ferry company. The buggies took passengers to the top floor of the car deck which was one of the tests put to us by the ferry company.
Jersey Harbours main concern was being able to get up and over the ramp at low tide, the tide in Jersey is notorious and has some of the largest tidal ranges in the world. Our buggies passed every examination with ease and with some optional extras agreed an order was placed. Delivery being agreed for mid August 2009.
