Club Car Tempo Maintenance

Club Car Tempo Maintenance Guide

The Club Car Tempo is a modern fleet and personal golf buggy, available in 48V electric, lithium-ion and EFI petrol forms. This guide covers the routine maintenance that keeps a Tempo reliable, on the aluminium frame Club Car is known for.

The Tempo's lithium-ion option is virtually maintenance-free on the battery side; lead-acid models need the usual charging and watering care, and the EFI petrol version needs regular oil and filter attention.

We service, repair and source parts for the Tempo and any other make and model.

Routine Care & Maintenance

Batteries & charging

How you look after the batteries makes the biggest difference to an electric buggy's life. If you have a lithium (LiFePO4) pack it's virtually maintenance-free – charge when convenient, partial charges are fine. For lead-acid batteries: charge after every use, avoid deep discharges, keep the water above the plates (top up with distilled water after charging), keep the tops clean, and always charge in a well-ventilated space away from sparks or flames.

Everyday care & cleaning

Tyres

Check pressures regularly and take care inflating – these small tyres fill fast and over-inflate easily. Keep pressures even across the buggy for stable handling.

Lithium Upgrade

Many Club Car Tempo owners upgrade from lead-acid to a lithium pack for lighter weight, faster charging and near zero maintenance. We carry out lithium conversions – see our Lithium Battery Upgrades page.

On the battery side, largely yes – no watering and partial charging is fine. You still carry out the usual vehicle care (tyres, cleaning, brakes).

Regular oil and filter changes to the manufacturer's schedule, plus air filter checks. Use the specified oil grade and don't overfill. We can service it for you.
